DEADLOCK DETECTION-
The system may enter a deadlock state.
The system needs:
-an algorithm that periodically determines whether a deadlock has occured in the system.
-a procedure to recover from a deadlock.
TWO algorithms:
-One instance per resource type.
-Multiple instances per resource type.
